Justin Sun Meets Warren Buffett
In the summer of 2019, one of the hottest topics in the community surrounded Justin Sun. He won a charity lunch with one of the most successful traditional market investors, Warren Buffett, after biding more than $4.5 million. The event was, however, postponed.
A new report from earlier today indicates that the long-awaited meeting between the two influential figures in their respective fields finally happened on January 23rd. The venue was not a fancy restaurant in San Francisco, as initially advertised, but instead, Sun went to Buffett’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.
Besides Sun, the guests that attended the dinner included Litecoin’s founder Charlie Lee, Huobi CFO Chris Lee, and eToro CEO Yoni Assia and Helen Hai, head of the Binance Charity Foundation.
Yoni Assia, eToro’s CEO On Buffett’s Dinner
Cryptopotato got the chance to speak to Yoni Assia about the exclusive dinner. eToro’s CEO said that it was a “life-changing” moment for him and a “huge honor to meet one of the world’s most famous and successful investors.”
Assia spoke of Buffett’s overall conceptions about investing and how he outlined that it’s not complicated to make money off it. According to him, the prominent investor said that “Investing is simple. Making money in the markets is easy. Invest in businesses you understand and believe in. If you follow the rules of value investing, as explained in Benjamin Graham’s book published in 1949, then you will succeed as an investor.”
eToro’s CEO also touched on what is perhaps the question that matters the most to the cryptocurrency community. Namely, whether Buffett’s stance on Bitcoin had changed, after previously calling it “rat poison squared.”
“I think his view now is better, he understands the potential of blockchain and still doesn’t believe in the value of Bitcoin.” According to Assia.
Buffett: Blockchain Has Its Value
Tron’s spokesman clarified that cryptocurrencies and blockchain were at the epicenter of the dinner talk. He noted Buffett’s wisdom and experience in business and investing. More importantly, for the community, though, the legendary investor has admitted blockchain’s benefits, its potential to disrupt the financial world, and all companies in the field who have high demands.
What also happened during the dinner is that Justin Sun, who previously pledged that he would educate Buffett on cryptocurrencies, gifted the Oracle of Omaha with a Samsung phone loaded with Bitcoin and TRX coins.
