Stellar blockchain is now officially a part of the Samsung Blockchain Keystore. Stellar Development Foundation, a non-profit organization responsible for the cryptocurrency network’s growth and development announced today.
It’s a Match for Stellar and Samsung
In a press release shared earlier, the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) announced the integration of the Stellar blockchain network into the Samsung Blockchain Keystore.
This will allow Samsung Galaxy smartphone users to securely store their Stellar wallet private keys on their phones. Also, through this integration, Stellar blockchain developers will now be able to create apps exclusively for Galaxy users.
Apart from this, SDF will also partner with Samsung to recruit and promote the growth of new Stellar developers. Four Stellar based companies have already signed up to populate the Keystore with their apps.
Commenting on this ‘stellar partnership’, Denelle Dixon, CEO and Executive Director of SDF said:
Stellar’s integration into the Samsung Blockchain Keystore is a significant step for our network and the incredible ecosystem of applications built on this platform. Samsung provides a key management solution that is user-friendly and drives greater adoption of blockchain technology. With this integration, we’ve opened up to a new network of users that can benefit from the combined innovation of Stellar and Samsung.
Not the First Crypto Partnership for Samsung
We at CryptoPotato have continuously been following developments in Samsung’s cryptocurrency and blockchain plans.
As reported in October last year, TRON was the fourth cryptocurrency network to feature on the Samsung Blockchain Keystore. This was followed by Samsung adding support for 3 TRON dApps in December 2019.
Last month the Samsung TRON partnership achieved new heights with the former adding a dedicated section for dApps built on the TRON network.
Samsung has been pretty progressive in its approach to embracing cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. The latest partnership with Stellar has taken the total count of crypto assets supported to 5. Support for Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Klaytn was announced before TRON.
And that’s not all. In May Samsung partnered with Gemini to make the cryptocurrency exchange’s services seamlessly available for its Blockchain Wallet users in the United States and Canada.
XLM prices rose by 2% following the news. Will Stellar’s native crypto token rally further? We will just have to wait and watch.
