ConsenSys Acquires Truffle
The New York-based blockchain company announced the new purchase in a press release shared with CryptoPotato earlier today. Although it hasn’t disclosed any specifics regarding the deal, the statement reads that ConsenSys has acquired the team and the technology of Truffle.
Launched in 2015, Truffle enables users to access built-in smart contract compilation, linking, deployment, and binary management. The announcement highlighted that Truffle has nearly 9 million downloads and a “vibrant developer community.”
The project is also described as an “ecosystem favorite for new and experienced developers seeking the tools to expedite the smart contract and front end app development process.” With the integration of Truffle with ConsenSys Quorum, Filecoin, and other protocols, Truffle aims at receiving global enterprise adoption of blockchain.
Truffle has several tools to facilitate the work of the 1.3 million developers worldwide utilizing its services. Those include the Truffle Suite – making the Solidity development “elegant, productive, and safe,” the Truffle Boxes – containing modules, contracts, and libraries, and the Truffle Teams that enables engineering teams of all sizes to collaborate on shared work in testing environments.

How Will ConsenSys Benefit?
According to the announcement, the addition of Truffle to the ConsenSys development portfolio will allow enterprise customers to benefit from a wider array of services. The Truffle team will continue to operate with the project with the “support of the industry-leading business development, engineering, and marketing teams at ConsenSys.”
“The Truffle Suite is essential for developments to get started on Ethereum and Web3, and is invaluable for increasing adoption of applications and enterprise blockchain solutions. Truffle is the top-of-the-funnel for all our products since nearly all developers began their smart contract development journey with the Truffle Suite.” – commented the Founder of ConsenSys – Joseph Lubin.
On the other hand, Tim Coulter, the Founder of Truffle, described the acquisition as a “natural fit.” He promised that his project will continue with “delivering enterprise-grade solutions that enable developers to build and deploy blockchain system using Ethereum and across multiple blockchains.”
