Supporting Climate Charities

The digital arts will represent the iconic remnants of Banksy’s original Spy Boot wall mural, with the entire income generated from royalties that will be embedded in the NFTs going to charity.

The partners have decided to support three charity organizations that are actively fighting climate change, including Laudato Tree, the Coalition for Rainforest Nations (CfRN), and American Forests.

In addition to supporting climate charities, Raiinmaker and Cosmic Wire will also be giving away $100,000.

Speaking on the latest venture, Raiinmaker’s founder, J.D. Seraphine, said, “Right now it’s critical that we all step up and do our part to help turn the tide at this important moment with climate change. We’re honored to support all the important work of the CfRN, Laudato Tree, and American Forests.”

Forever on Blockchain

The Spy Booth Wall Mural is a controversial artwork satirizing government surveillance and wiretaps and had made waves when it first appeared in April 2014 on the wall of a house in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

It depicts three 50s-era spies in brown trench coats using devices to listen in on conversations at a phone booth.

Interestingly, the house on which the mural was painted was just a little distance away from GCHQ, home of the UK government’s surveillance operations.

Two years later, however, the wall was destroyed, and the mural was thought to have been lost forever. Fortunately, the remaining fragments of the piece have been recovered and are now preserved for all time in the form of NFTs.

Jared Finck, the CEO of Cosmic Herald added, “We at Cosmic are truly excited to reintroduce the world to this amazing piece and preserve it indefinitely for future generations to enjoy. These remnants are all that remain of the work, and now they will be time-capsuled forever in the blockchain.
