SEE Institute in Dubai has partnered with the Swiss-based Cardano Foundation to merge blockchain technology with sustainability efforts. This partnership was officially announced at SEE Institute’s net-zero emissions building in The Sustainable City. In addition, it represents a leap forward towards the use of blockchain for creating sustainable solutions in areas like food, energy, water, products, mobility, and waste.
It plans to create an environment in which blockchain can be used for the creation of a sustainable development solution. One major outcome is the development of the world’s first Professional Diploma in Sustainable Blockchain. This program combines SEE Institute’s sustainability expertise with Cardano’s blockchain knowledge. Additionally, it includes six modules. These modules will teach professionals how to use blockchain for global sustainability. Consequently, the goal is to address pressing environmental challenges.
One of the key elements of the collaboration is The Sustainable City’s Living Lab. To this research space, it will be possible to create such projects that will cover a possibility of using blockchain technology in sustainable endeavors. Through the facility, SEE Institute and Cardano intend to increase the application of blockchain across industries, which the firms say will increase the technology’s use of traceability.
SEE Institute and Cardano Push for Blockchain in Transparent Business Models
Engineer Faris Saeed, Founder & Chairman of SEE Institute, explained about the use of blockchain in sustainability. He pointed out that blockchain can be integrated to produce an unalterable record, as well as track products in supply chains in real-time. “This creates confidence, enhances the reliability of data and provides evidence for net zero emissions strategy,” Saeed stated.
Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, spoke about the education agenda. “Educating people and businesses on blockchain is critical,” he said. It demonstrates the need for blockchain learning and Cardano’s increasing reach when coupled with SEE Institute. In particular, Gregaarde showed interest in further development of new applications of blockchain towards sustainability.
Ultimately, both organizations want blockchain to be for good and sustainable purposes. Some stakeholders think that it may foster sustainable and transparent business models. The partnership aims at increasing the role of international sustainability initiatives and the use of blockchain technologies. The goal of this partnership is to demonstrate blockchain as a useful technology for advancing the cause of the environment.
