The IoT Tech Expo North America will return to the Santa Clara Convention Center, Silicon Valley 13-14 November 2019. It will bring together key industries from across the globe for two days of top-level content and discussion across 5 co-located events including the largest Blockchain Expo, the brand new 5G Expo, Cybersecurity & Cloud Expo and Ai & Big Data Expo.

The show will host 500+ industry leaders exploring the future of enterprise technology with a two-day conference stream covering the future of industrial IoT. Speakers within this conference stream include senior representatives from Boeing, P&G, Shell, Visa, First Group, Shell New Energies and many many more!

The show is set to welcome 12,000 attendees across the 5 co-located events comprising of IoT, 5G, AI, big data, cyber security, cloud and blockchain.

  • Robert Rencher: Associate Technical Fellow, Senior Systems Engineer – The Boeing Company

As a Sr. System Engineer, Robert’s primary area of expertise is in the identification and validation of strategic Information Technology solutions for Boeing and the aviation industry. He is a recognized as an effective expert in addressing issues related to complex airline information systems; specifically the integration, security and performance of the global information technology infrastructure utilized by the commercial aviation industry.

Robert will be sharing his wealth of knowledge in his session ‘Connected Industry: Creating a competitive edge with the IIoT’ on Wednesday 13th November 2019. This talk will explore how to move ahead of the ever-growing technology and harness the full potential of IIoT. Focusing on how small wins can grow into big returns.   • Carl Stjernfeldt: Head of Corporate Development, Americas – Shell New Energies

Carl heads up the Corporate Development group in Americas for Shell New Energies, the renewables and emerging business models division of Shell. Corp Dev performs minority and majority investments (>$20M) and M&A. New Energies focus areas include solar, wind, storage, power, and enhanced mobility (electric, transportation as a service, etc). Since Digital is fundamental, integrated and differentiated to New Energies, it’s another core area of interest. He previously was the senior US member of the Shell ventures team, where he also headed up the Digital investment fund.

Carl will be speaking on ‘Connected Industry: Predictive Maintenance – How to unlock true actionable Insight’ on Wednesday 13th November. The talk will explore the potential benefits for business innovation and strategy of implementing IoT for maintenance, and what is holding industries back here. Discussing the impact that data models used for predictive maintenance have on field services, and the need for feedback loops to continually refine them.   • Olabisi Boyle: Vice President, IoT Platforms – VISA

Olabisi Boyle is Vice President of Visa’s Internet of Things (IoT) program, overseeing activities across IoT verticals including cities, automotive, home, and retail.  She is responsible for commercializing connected payment solutions featuring cutting-edge payment technology, identifying strategic partnerships, and managing the cross-functional team to bring these new payment experiences to fruition.

Prior to joining Visa, Olabisi worked at Chrysler Automotive for 12 years. Most recently serving as the director for engineering, planning and technical cost reduction at Fiat Chrysler. Her responsibilities included managing the engineering research and development budget, resource planning, and optimizing technical cost savings across all Chrysler platforms.

Olabisi also served as the chief engineer for the 2011 MY Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan Minivans. The 2011 Chrysler Town & Country went on to win the 2011 JD Power Award for Best Initial Quality in the minivan segment.

Olabisi will be speaking on the ‘Consumer Application of IoT: How the Internet of Things is being used in the car, retail, home and cities’ on Thursday 14th November. She will also be speaking on the panel exploring ‘Developing IoT: Connectivity Considerations for IoT solutions’ on Wednesday 13th November.   • Robert Heuser Director: Strategic Accounts, SAP Digital Interconnect – SAP

Robert Heuser is a seasoned veteran of both the mobile engagement and telecommunications industries, leading technical and sales teams to success in a variety of vertical markets.  In his current role as Director of Strategic Accounts, Rob delivers winning solutions for SAP Digital Interconnect’s North American customers including those in the financial, social media, logistics and other industries

Robert will be discussing the ‘Innovations and Solutions of IoT: Using intelligent connectivity to transform the IoT Edge’ on Thursday 14th November. This session will explore how enterprises can connect IoT devices across multiple network types at scale, keeping devices secure and using AI at the edge to manage uncertain connectivity.   • Karthik Sankaran: Senior Director – Digital Services – Pepsico

Karthik Sankaran is Senior Director – Digital Services for PepsiCo. In this role, he leads the creation and development of commerce, IoT and web solutions for PepsiCo’s global brands. Prior to joining PepsiCo, he was the Director of digital transformation and eCommerce at AT&T, where he was responsible for setting the strategic direction, technology modernization, and execution of sophisticated web and commerce solutions.

Karthik has a passion for IoT, large scale enterprise architecture, integrated solutions involving hardware and software development, internet and intranet portals and artificial intelligence.

With more than six patents to his credit, Karthik is a recognized innovator and expert in the field of internet technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronics Engineering degree and an MBA degree.

Karthik will be sharing his knowledge on the ‘Application of Consumer IoT – Taking the reigns for your own IoT journey’ on Thursday 14th November.   • Dr. Don Kinard: Senior Fellow – Lockheed Martin

Dr. Don Kinard is a Senior Fellow for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Production Operations and has been with LM for 35 years.  Currently Don supports Digital Transformation at Aeronautics as well as other programs such as F-35.  Prior to his current assignment he was lead for the Fighter Production System (rate transition) development for F-35.

Early on the F-35 Program, Don was the Director of F-35 Production Engineering responsible for Joint Strike Fighter Tooling, Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Aircraft Systems Testing.  Before joining F-35 in 2004 Dr. Kinard held various positions in both Engineering and Manufacturing during his 18 years on the F-22

Dr. Kinard is also the lead for the LM Corporate Fellow’s Manufacturing Team whose objective is to develop and share engineering, manufacturing, and sustainment technologies throughout all of the LM business units. His technical interests include materials and structures, digital thread integration, Industry 4.0, manufacturing technology, manufacturing system design, and production management.

In 2018 Dr. Kinard was named as one of the Smart Industries 50 leaders in digital transformation honoring individuals across industry who are making a difference in their organizations’ pursuit and embrace of digital transformation.

Dr. Kinard will be discussing ‘The Digital Thread, IoT and Indsutry 4.0’ on Thursday 14th November. This talk will explore how the digital thread, initiated more than 20 years ago, is now connecting more than just engineering models with downstream functions. It is connecting our factory equipment and production data and will eventually include technical, administrative, and financial data in our Big 4 (ERP, MES, PLM, Sustainment) IT systems.
