Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of things have changed for many people as regards how they spend their time and live their lives. These same changes apply to world billionaire Bill Gates. The co-founder of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) basically during the pandemic has been doing a lot of reading and engaging in activities that entertain and keep his mind sharp alongside his friend Warren Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Inc (NYSE: BRK.A).

Gates and Buffett Like Bridge

Reportedly, both friends enjoy keeping their minds sharp with bridge. It is a card game that required from players a good strategy and manpower.

According to Buffett, in a week, he plays the game for about eight hours. He does this so he can acquire a new skill so he can beat Gates. Buffett said he plays 100 times more than Gates. Perhaps it is the only game in the world where he could have a slight edge with him.

Bill Gates mentioned in a blog post that amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, they don’t get to meet, but they enjoy playing their favorite game online. Gates highlights that there are several opportunities for playing online, including the guide to learning the game.

Gates said the online platform he and Buffett plays is called Bridge Base. The game has become a part of the Billionaire’s routine such that he got worried sometimes back when the platform they play on went down. He claims he was surprised at how excited he was to see the platform get running again, too, when it returned.

Other Activities of Bill Gates amid Lockdown

Apart from playing bridges alongside Warren Buffett, Gates also makes time to watch TV too. Bill and Melinda, his wife, recently have managed to watch “A Million Little Things,” “This Is Us,” and “Ozark.

However, he reveals that most of his conversations and meetings had been about the coronavirus and stopping it. But he said he gets a lot of questions about what he is reading and watching.

Gates recommends five books in addition to five new reviews for his summer book list. He recommended The Choice, by Dr. Edith Eva Eger, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, The ride of a Lifetime by Bob Iger, The Great Influenza by John M. Barry, and Good Economics for Hard Times by Abhijit V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo.

He recommends some other books worth reading like Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer, A Gentleman in Moscow, by Amor Towles, among others.
