Navarro Gray Is Now an Integral Part of the Firm
Aside from his work with Legacy Records, Gray is also the CEO of the Gray Firm, a litigator, and a defense attorney. In late August, he presented a donation of more than $50,000 on behalf of the music enterprise to what’s known as the Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation at Hot 97’s 2021 Summer Jam event, which occurred recently in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The event featured several musical artists represented by Legacy Records.
As it stands, Gray has discovered many new artists and musicians for the firm. He has also been an integral part to the legal operations of Legacy. He presently serves two roles with the enterprise as one of its talent managers, as well as its primary litigator. CEO of Legacy Keishia McLeod expressed her joy at having Gray serve on the team. In an interview, she stated:
The Legacy team is proud to build alongside Navarro. His partnership is essential to us all and the future of this company.
Gray was also given a chance to throw his two cents into the ring. He discussed what makes Legacy Records so unique in his mind and shared his excitement about working with the company:
Legacy Records is the first label in history that offers their artists the opportunity to receive their advance and royalty payments in cryptocurrency. There has not been such a change in the music industry like this since digital distribution and streaming… I am glad to be such an intricate part of the machine that will be leading the forefront in this digital lane.
Gray comes from a rather prominent law background, having previously served as the first African American city public defender in Hackensack, New Jersey. One of his most prominent cases involved someone named Fetty Wap and his attempts to garner a recording deal with 300 Entertainment.
The Entertainment World and the Crypto World Are Fusing
Prior to his work as a lawyer, Gray earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Hampton University. He graduated with honors and Cum Laude and eventually earned his Juris Doctorate from the Hofstra University School of Law, where he concentrated primarily on intellectual property.
The bridge between crypto and the entertainment world is getting stronger. While Legacy Records is backed by cryptocurrency, there are several prominent figures in the entertainment space striving to get their hands on digital assets, which continue to see their reputations grow. Recently, it was announced on Twitter that Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon had purchased ETH for the first time.
