OpenAI to Commence Registration for DevDay Soon
According to the company, the event is scheduled in San Francisco, where the firm is headquartered. However, participants outside the jurisdiction can also stream the conference online. OpenAI said that parts of the event, including the keynote, will be available for online streaming.
Registration for the one-day event, which aims to bring together developers and professionals from the AI community, will begin in the coming weeks. The company has provided a link where interested individuals can sign up to receive notifications when the registration opens. The OpenAI DevDay conference is expected to accommodate a few hundred people.
While detailed session agendas for the conference are yet to be disclosed, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman hinted at unveiling tools during the event. This tantalizing prospect offers participants a potential glimpse into the future roadmap of the company’s cutting-edge product offerings.
“We’re looking forward to showing our latest work to enable developers to build new things,” said the company’s CEO.
Not the First to Host a Developer Event
With the upcoming event, OpenAI follows in the footsteps of many major tech firms, such as Google and Salesforce, that organize developer gatherings. Such events aim to nurture stronger relationships with third-party app creators and showcase their extensive product roadmap to a broader audience.
According to reports, OpenAI may provide updates about some of its products, including the highly anticipated ChatGPT-5, which is still in the works. Also, the company may discuss ChatGPT-4 image understanding capabilities during the DevDay conference.
Additionally, the company may provide insights about developments in its recently acquired AI studio, Global Illumination. In April, OpenAI announced that it purchased the company alongside its team to work on core products, including ChatGPT.
Over 2 Million Developers Utilizing OpenAI’s Products
OpenAI said in the blog post that it regularly updates its API with the latest models, making AI integration simple for developers.
The Microsoft-backed company said more than 2 million developers actively utilize its suite of AI models comprising GPT-3.5, GPT-4, DALL·E, and Whisper for various use cases, including integrating smart assistants and building new applications and services.
“Since launching our API in 2020, we’ve continuously updated it to include our most advanced models, making it easier than ever for developers to integrate cutting-edge AI into their projects with a simple API call. Today, over 2 million developers are using GPT-4, GPT-3.5, DALL·E, and Whisper for a wide range of use cases,” the company said.
