It is important to outline that Grachev bought the company’s shares before the loss of 20% of its value after the news of Durov’s arrest. The token hit rock bottom at $5.249 due to the panic sell-off that saw 24-hour trading volume of increase by 892% to $2.48 billion. However, since this point the asset has improved and the stock is at $5.864, mainly attributed to moves such as acquisitions.
Crypto Community Rallies Behind Durov, Calls Arrest an Attack on Free Speech
The crypto community has backed Durov with people arguing that his arrest was a way of trying to pressure him into agreeing to censor Telegram on behalf of the government.
