OKX Achieves Full Licensing, Targets Growth in Singapore’s Crypto Sector

The move to achieve this full license can be noted to have started earlier this year, especially after OKX was granted an ‘in-principle’ MPI license by MAS in March 2023. When the decision to close down the office was made, OKX’s president Hong Fang highlighted the Singapore market as one of the key strategic markets for the firm. The full license now cements OKX’s place in Singapore, permitting the company to actively enter the sector and diversify its services.

As the CEX with significant trading volumes, OKX remains focused on growth and progress in the crypto space. In August, the number of transactions with digital assets on the platform exceeded $67 billion, which emphasizes the platform’s importance in the market for digital assets. However, OKX faces stiff competition from industry giants like Binance, which reported a monthly trading volume of $448.45 billion during the same period.

As an entity that has been awarded the full MPI license and with Gracie Lin at the helm of OKX SG, the company can improve more of its service provisions while also increasing its foothold in Singapore. This development underlines OKX’s commitment to offering safe, effective, and transformative crypto products in line with Singapore’s surge in the need for digital financial tools.
