With the second version of the renowned Crypto Certificates, Bitcoin Suisse has launched a state-of-the-art paper wallet equipped with elaborate and highly complex security features, the first series launched in 2014. The new Bitcoin Suisse Crypto Certificates are denominated in Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Bitcoin SV (BSV), Tezos (XTZ) and CryptoFranc (XCHF) and are available for purchase through Bitcoin Suisse Online. Additionally, certificates are available in DAI as well as other crypto asset denominations, these will only be publicly offered at a later stage.

The new Bitcoin Suisse Crypto Certificates feature a yet unparalleled array of security mechanisms and are produced in cooperation with an internationally leading Swiss provider of forgery-proof cutting-edge brand- and counterfeit protection solutions. Protection against forgery and tampering is guaranteed by several protection mechanisms such as next-generation Nanocrypt™-Holograms (OVD) and optically variable OptiSafe® security printing colors, the use of UV-ink as well as many more features.

Cryptographic Security
Each certificate has two keys – one public and one private. The public key contains the unique address of the respective blockchain protocol, similar to a traditional bank account’s “IBAN” number and is visible for everyone. The private key (secret key) provides access to the funds and is hidden behind an optically opaque coating with optical security features to protect against counterfeiting and tampering.
To access the funds stored on the certificates, this coating must be rubbed off and the private key revealed, which prevents misuse or reuse of the wallets. The private key associated with each certificate only exists as part of each certificate, and great care was taken in the generation of high-quality random seed keys for the certificates, as well as ensuring that only the copy on the certificates themselves remain in existence. The production of the certificates took place under the strictest security measures, during which the private keys were always kept under lock and key and that no electronic copies were ever kept in any system past their use, extending to even the destruction of hardware involved in the key handing. Moreover, multiple officially certified notaries accompanied the particularly delicate parts of the production process. The process was documented in the form of a public deed which is going to be available publicly.
Refined Design
The overhaul includes an even more refined design that builds on the look and feel of traditional early 20th century bank notes/bills similar to the first series of Bitcoin Suisse Crypto Certificates released in 2015, but with a more sophisticated design language and a much greater amount of details. The premium bank bill paper consists of 100% cotton for the optimal balance between a durability and a superior haptic feel.
