Er sagte unter anderem:
I fully believe Bitcoin is the future of finance and I wanted to prove that I have real skin in the game — not just trying to make a quick buck. I will be converting my entire NFL salary to #Bitcoin.
Culkin hätte sein Gehalt auch weiterhin in US-Dollar erhalten und anschließend selbst in BTC umwandeln können. Dementsprechend ist diese Meldung wohl auch als Marketing in eigener Sache zu verstehen. Allerdings ist sie ein weiteres Indiz für die kommende Mass Adoption.
Culkin ist übrigens nicht der erste Profi-Sportler, der auf Bitcoin setzt. Auch andere Football- und Basketballspieler aus den USA entdecken den BTC als Asset mit positiveren Zukunftsaussichten im Vergleich zum inflationären US-Dollar.
